Application Examples

Mid Band Ethernet

Local Authority Network

  • XLR 5000 - EFM-based Multi-Service Access Platform (MSAP)

The Case Communications XLR 5000 is a carrier class Multi-Service Access Platform that bridges the gap between legacy networks and the next generation networks providing support for both Fibre and Copper services.

Based on Ethernet.

The XLR 5000 is an Ethernet based Multi-Service Platform which allows cost effective migration from legacy PDH to next generation networking.

Support for migrating E1 / T1

The XLR 5000 provides support for conventional E1 / T1 services, allowing carriers to provide support for conventional TDM services as well as high speed Ethernet through a common platform, allowing the carrier to migrate their customers to pure IP in a cost effective manner.

Support for Copper and Fibre in a single platform

The XLR 5000 provides support for both copper and fibre in a single converged platform, with high speed 'backhaul' capabilities

DSLAM and Ethernet Demarcation Device

The XLR 5000 works with the Case Communications XLR 550 CPE series of 2-Base TL EFM DSL products as a Mini-DLSAM and can also work as a Smart Ethernet Demarcation Device, allowing carriers to provide a separation point between their WAN and their customers LAN, and provide monitoring of a customers network status.

Management

The Case Communications XLR 5000 supports IEEE 802.3ah and vendor specific standards based extended management features.

The XLR 5000 Management Interface includes comprehensive command Line Interface (CLI), a user-friendly GUI-based Web Browser Interface, SNMP and Telnet.
