Ethernet First Mile 2Base-TL Broadband
XLR 550A – G.SHDSLBis Broadband
The Case Communications eXtreme Line
Rate 550A (XLR 550A) extends the reach
of Ethernet Services to sites by using bonded copper pairs. Designed
using EFM (Ethernet First Mile) Technology (2Base-TL), the Case
Communications XLR 550A provides a cost effective solution for both
service providers and enterprises to deliver Symmetrical Ethernet
services up to 22.8Mbps.

Extended Ethernet services to sites using existing copper infrastructure
Service providers and Enterprises can offer symmetrical broadband
connectivity for transparent Ethernet services, DSLAM backhaul,
Wireless backhaul and other applications. By leveraging, existing
copper services and using the unique EFM bonding technology, the
XLR 550A can bond up to 4 pairs, and deliver between 1 and 22.8Mbps
Ethernet services to users.
Comprehensive and easy OAM & P Functions in provision.
The XLR 550A implements the IEEE 802.3ah standards, as well as
a vendor extended management feature based on IEEE 802.3ah.This
enables users to significantly reduce operating expenses as its
based on standard Ethernet technology and it eliminates major technology
upgrades. The XLR 550A is compatible with any standard Fast Ethernet
interface from switches, routers, and SONET / SDH equipment.
The Fast Ethernet interface also enables the XLR 550A to work as
a smart Ethernet Demarcation Device (EDD), providing demarcation
between the carriers WAN and the Enterprise LAN, by monitoring network
status and operation at the customers site.
Management
The XLR 550A's management includes a comprehensive Command Line
Interface (CLI), user-friendly GUI based Web Browser interface and
SNMP and Telnet.
Future-proof Ethernet traffic management and QOS features
The XLR 550A provides future-proof features meeting Ethernet Quality
of Service (QoS) and Class of Service (CoS) requirements by utilising
802.1q VLAN and DSCP capabilities, stacked VLAN (Q-in-Q), four levels
of priority, traffic flow control and rate control. This traffic
management and QoS features enable service providers to offer highly
profitable and value added services
