Single or dual DS3/E3 ports

The PCI 530 series network cards are low-cost PCI 2.1 compliant network adapters that support multiport T1/E1/J1 or DS3/E3 connectivity for WAN and Internet routing applications. The software included with the routers supplied by Case Communications is used to configure each of the soft-set interfaces.

530 series WAN adapters support full or fractional line speeds independently for each port. The T1/E1/J1 cards also support DS0 multiplexing, as well as drop-and-insert with the 2 and 4 port versions. The DS3/E3 cards support full or fractional line speeds configurable in DS1 (1.5 Mbps) increments.

The 530 series T1/E1/J1 cards use a fully integrated design based on the PMC Comet and Altera chipsets. The 530 series DS3/E3 cards use the high-performance Intel 21143 chipset that supports duplex E3 speeds up to 34 Mbps per port and DS3 speeds up to 45 Mbps per port, with a maximum aggregate throughput of 180 Mbps.

The 530 series hardware supports bisync and SDLC/HDLC protocols with a low-latency PCI interface that can burst into host memory at speeds up to 256 MBps. 530 series cards provide a PCI bus interface that is compatible with 3.3 and 5 volt signaling systems. The T1/E1/J1 cards include a 32-bit 33 MHz PCI bus interface, and the DS3/E3 cards provide a 32-bit 33/66 MHz PCI bus interface.
