Circuit Emulation Over IP Options
4-port HDLC over TCP
- X.25
- Stat muxes
- Frame relay products
4-port asyncronous
- Un-interruptible power supply monitoring
- Fire and burglar alarm monitoring
- Asyncronous terminals
Application example HDLC over existing IP network

In the diagram above, we see the Case Communications
Multi-Access Routers fitted with the 'HDLC Over TCP' cards providing
transport over an existing IP network. Each port can go to a different
destination, allowing fully meshed networking over the IP network.
The use of TCP guarantees data delivery. Encryption can be enabled
to provide additional security.
Application example HDLC over broadband and the Internet

In this diagram, we see Case Communications
Multi-Access Router fitted with the 'HDLC Over TCP' cards and
internal ADSL cards, allowing them to communicate over the Internet
and a broadband connection. Should the bandwidth requirements
be greater than the broadband service provider is able to support,
multiple ADSL links can be combined to form high-speed pipes between
sites.
Application example
Async Data over broadband and the Internet
In the example above a dial up and leased line error correcting
modems have been replaced by the Multi-Access Router. The Multi
Access Router has an Async option card installed to allow Async
data to be transported over an IP Network.

Circuit Emulation Over IP
With the IP dominating the world's networks the traditional PDH/SDH
circuits will become more expensive and harder to obtain.
There are technologies in use which do not use IP, and for customers
who have non IP technology the Case Communications Multi-Access
Router with optional 'circuit emulation over IP' and Broadband provides
a high-performance cost-effective solution. Return on investment
can be measured in weeks as expensive digital circuits are replaced
by integrating the equipment into an existing network or taking
advantage of broadband circuits.
Case Communications circuit emulation products make use of option
cards that contain chipsets specially designed and developed by
Case Communications. Each card provides support for 4 ports, allowing
fully meshed networks to be created over IP.
There are no limitations on the number of ports that can be supported.
The number of ports is dependant on the hardware platform being
used. In most instances the two-slot Multi-Access Router will provide
sufficient power and capacity but, if more capacity is required,
there are chassis supporting up to 10 slots and 40 ports. Multiple
chassis can coexst on the same domain.
The Multi-Access Router platform is the main platform for the CEOIP
cards and this is provided with two option slots and the ability
to forward packets at 30Mbps or 50 Mbps, depending on the model
used.
