Case Communications Resilient X-Ring Application Examples
The network diagram below depicts a resilient ring with ‘Dual Homing’ to the control room switch. If either ring switch connected to the control room switch were to fail the other switch would allow the ring to continue communications within a few milli-seconds.
X-Ring provides a highly resilient Ring of up to 50 Case Communications Switches which allow for Network Auto Recovery in 10ms.
Integrating Business and Industrial Switches
The network below shows a simple ring with a number of spur switches and devices connected.
X-Ring used in Dual Homing mode to support ticket machines
The network example below is for a station ticket machine network. Here we have dual rings each ‘dual homed’ to the control room switch. For large networks use VLANS or a layer three switch to help break up the traffic.
See X-Ring Technical Note for more information on how the X-Rings work
