Overview
The Case Communications 3611 Serial to Ethernet Converters is an RS232 to ethernet converter allowing a serial device to operate over an Ethernet Network and manage serial devices and hosts in remote locations via the network. The 3611 supports 1 x RS232 / RS-485 / RS-422 serial interface and 1 x 10Mbps / 100Mbps Ethernet interface.
The 3611 Serial to Ethernet Serial Port adapter supports multiple network protocols, such as TCP, UDP, ARP, ICMP, HTTP, DNS and DHCP. It also allows remote management including access control and rapid configuration.
The ethernet to serial converter supports 4 TCP or UDP Sessions, and also supports a TCP Server, TCP Client, TCP Auto, UDP Advanced TCP Server, Advanced UDP Operating modes and AT, Web access modes.
A management tool based on a Windows platform can guide the user to manage and configure the 3611.
The Case Communications 3611 Serial to Ethernet converter operates from -40C to + 70C without fans and has low power consumption, making it ideal for use in harsh environments.

An rs232 to ethernet converter allows legacy devices running serial ports to operate over an IP Network. The ethernet serial port adapter either transports the RS232 data from one point in the network to another point or provides the function of an ethernet to serial converter allowing a PC to run a protocol such as Telnet to connect to a Serial device.
An rs232 to ethernet converter is widely used in the Internet of things to connect where the IoT devices still use serial ports and the control systems running on PC’s require an ethernet serial port adapter
While we have used RS232 as the physical interface for the ethernet serial port adapter these products can also convert Ethernet to RS 485 and RS 422
